What we do:
Talk Club is a UK male mental health charity. We’re here to change the numbers of men because 76% of suicides are male, making suicide the biggest killer of men under 60 with a man dying every 90 minutes. It silently screams that men struggle to prevent poor mental health and find a way to share how they really feel.
It’s our mission to change this through talking groups that start with asking ‘How are you? Out of 10?’ By putting a number on how we feel and explaining why, men have a way to open up and measure their mental fitness.
Our Services:
Talk & Listen - A Talk & Listen group is a peer to peer talking group run by volunteers we call Captains. We train Captains to facilitate groups in communities across the UK. These groups are held in person and online. In person meetings are held wherever men are – gyms, pubs, local cafe’s… in safe and quiet spaces so men can talk and listen using the Talk Club sharing model which starts with ‘How are you? Out of 10?’.
Talk & Exercise - A Talk & Exercise group is a peer to peer talking group that includes some form of physical activity, such as Talk & Football or Talk & Walk… These sessions are run by volunteers we call Captains.
Talking Therapies - Talk Club Therapy Group offers men an affordable and accessible way to enter therapy with a trained therapist. With many men having to wait too long for treatment, this offers Talk Club members who have tried the peer-to-peer talking groups a way to go deeper using the Talk Club format by simply asking, ‘How are you? Out of 10?’ at the start and at the end of each session.
Elgin Football Club:
