Clinics We Offer
Daily Duty Clinics
Our Duty Team is made up of emergency care practitioners (ECPs) and advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs). These are specially trained nurse practitioners who provide our same day consultations for a range of acute illnesses, e.g., sore throats, chest infections, sore ears, urine infections, skin problems, back pain and emergency contraception. They can issue prescriptions and always have a GP available to offer support if required.
Minor Illness Clinic
These clinics are run by fully qualified nurses whom have taken additional training in minor ailment management including respiratory or skin infections, musculoskeletal pain and other common medical conditions.
Minor Surgery Clinic
An appointment with a GP is required initially to arrange a referral to this clinic for a minor operation.
Skin Lesion Clinic
GP led clinic using dermoscopy to identify and manage potentially concerning skin lesions e.g skin growths, suspicious moles etc.
Well Woman Clinic
Offers well woman checks and advice, cervical smears and hormone replacement checks.
Family Planning Clinic
Nurse run clinic for contraceptive advice/prescription including emergency contraception. A GP appointment can be made typically for more complex cases.
Respiratory Clinic
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma are seen at this Clinic and are encouraged to attend The Fiona Elcock Vaccination Centre each year for free flu vaccination. All patients with Asthma should have at least a yearly review.
Diabetic Clinic
All patients with diabetes will be invited to attend either The Maryhill Practice Diabetic Clinic or Dr Gray's Hospital Diabetic Clinic every 6 months for routine monitoring.
Additional Services
A variety of Health Professionals operate clinics within the practice including First Contact Physio, Occupational Therapists, District nurses and Dementia nurse coordinators. The receptionists will be able to guide you to the most appropriate professional by asking some questions in the strictest of confidence.
